Hospitals & Services by Mcshin Foundation - McShin Foundation was founded in Richmond, Virginia, years ago by John Shinholser and Carol McDaid. It was established to fill a void that the couple saw in the care of Richmonders seeking recovery. John left a lucrative painting business to start the foundation and Carol is a veteran lobbyist for mental health and drug policy at the federal level. The McShin Foundation has grown from two offices in the basement of a church, into an organization that includes multiple recovery residence beds as well as a lot of square-foot recovery centers. In long-term recovery, John and Carol continue working daily to combat Substance Use Disorders and help people start their recovery journey.
